Review by hotel critic
Review of Maison Les CrayèresNestled in the serene heart of the Tournus countryside, the Maison presents a compelling equilibrium of luxury and value. Upon arrival, we were met by the hospitable hosts, Orlanda and Christophe, whose warmth set a welcoming tone for our stay. The property’s immaculate housekeeping underscores an admirable commitment to cleanliness, enhancing the overall experience. The guest room offered generous space, complemented by an electric kettle and tea facilities, allowing for a comfortable retreat. A notable advantage for those travelling with pets is the thoughtful inclusion of food bowls, catering to canine companions—a rarity in many upscale establishments. Diners are in for a treat; the home-cooked dinner, enjoyed on the terrace overlooking the stunning garden, showcases local cuisine and wines at a reasonable price. Breakfast continues this trend, with a selection of homemade produce that tantalizes the palate. The Maison also boasts shared facilities, including a well-stocked kitchen that proved essential when local shops were closed. For travellers seeking a leisurely stay with an eye on financial prudence, this charming property strikes a commendable balance. It serves as a reminder that luxury need not come with an exorbitant price tag.
